café au Play Programs
The Café offers a variety of programs. Open play is always free. Most classes and events cost to attend. You can purchase a Café Class Punch Card to use towards classes. If you need a scholarship to attend classes, please reach out to the Director at durangocafeauplay@gmail.com.
Baby Group with abbie
Hosted weekly on Thursdays by Abbie Downing, a certified lactation consultant and birth doula. These free groups allow connection and support with postpartum caregivers.
In addition, Abbie hosts informal talks with families about postpartum life, feeding, and sleeping tips.
Occurs weekly on Thursdays from

Music with mandy
Hosted by Mandy Gardner, Deacon at Christ the King Church. This music class focuses on introducing music to babies and toddlers. These classes offer time for young kiddos to sing, dance, and play musical instruments.
Offered 1-2x a month on Mondays & Wednesdays at 11:00am
Costs $5 per child, no sign up required.
Toddler dance class
Hosted by Amanda McKovich , an experienced dance and yoga teacher. Your toddler will enjoy learning new dance moves, stretching their bodies, and using props like shakers and scarves. It's a great time to get those wiggles out!
Offered once a month on Mondays at 11am. Costs $5 per child, no sign up required.
Story time
Story Time is designed for babies and toddlers. It focuses on early childhood education and teaches the parents the importance of reading to their children. Story Time includes reading, singing, practicing the alphabet and more. Story Time also includes a craft at the end that is connected to the theme of the month.
Offered once a month on Mondays or Wednesdays at 10:00am

Montessori classes
Hosted by Tristan Kladzyk, who is a 15-year veteran Montessori teacher, certified for babies and toddlers. These are hands-on parent and child classes, not offered anywhere else in La Plata County. Classes are designed for ages 0-4. The class includes exploration of toys, songs and games, making a snack using tools, and discussing Montessori techniques.
Offered 2 time a month on Wednesday and Friday. Costs $10 to attend and sign up required. Sign Up Here
Baby & Me Yoga
Hosted by Amanda McKovich, who is an experienced dance and yoga teacher. This is a gentle yoga class designed for caregivers and babies to stretch, bond, and relax together through simple poses, movement, and connection. Great for babies ages 0-1. Please bring your own mat.
Offered once a month on Thursdays at 11am. Costs $5 to attend, no sign up required.

Pop Up Events
The Café is open on the first or second Saturday of the month for drop-in play at our play space! Indoor and outdoor play will be available for two hours. If you would like to host one of these Saturday play dates, please let a staff member know.
We hope to see you on our monthly Saturday play-date from 10am-12pm. Check the monthly calendar for specific date.
Hosted by Alana Wilson, a veteran yoga teacher, offering prenatal and postpartum support.
A 6-week prenatal yoga series that nurtures your body and mind while building strength, relaxation, and a supportive community of fellow mamas-to-be. Suitable for all stages of pregnancy. Tea and snacks are provided to help encourage community connection.
Weekly classes can be taken as a drop-in for $10 per class or the whole series for $60. Sign up required. Sign Up Here
We host fun pop-up events on our campus and around Durango througout the year.
These events included: Nature Walks with Ashley from Heartfelt Earth Walks (off campus), Toddler Olympics Event, Days at Lake Nighthorse (off campus), Playtime at the Park (off campus), Bubble Parties, and Beach Days at Café au Play.
We welcome parents to host an event to share something with our community! If you are interested, please talk with a host.
Community events
Café au Play supports local organizations by hosting a tent with toddler focused activities like at Durango Farmer's Market and Stillwater Music's Party in the Park.
We welcome community members to host events at our space to share about their business or an important topic to our families. For example, Durango Kids hosted an educational event about the importance of teeth brushing and Pathfinder Chiropractic hosted an informative talk about how to improve sleep in your little ones.
